FAMILIA CEROPHYTIDAE
Esta pequeña familia de Elateroidea incluye
pequeños coleópteros (6-9 mm), alargados, algo aplastados. Son de color café
oscuro. Los trocánteres posteriores son alargados, casi de lo largo de la
femora. se encuentran en madera descompuesta o bajo corteza.
Una revisión de esta familia está hecha
recientemente por Costa, Vanin, Lawrence & Ide (2003).
